LINKÖPING, Sweden. Saab AB will act as system integrator for the Multi-Shot Mine Neutralisation System (MuMNS), part of the Franco-British Maritime Mine Counter Measures (MMCM) program, under an initial order worth 300 million kronor ($36.4 million) signed with prime contractor Thales.

According to information from Saab, the MuMNS remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) is equipped with sensors that enable operational mine and historical ordnance clearance, mine investigation, and underwater demolitions. The company says that MuMNS can be operated from a wide range of platforms, including unmanned surface vessels (USVs), mine countermeasure ships, and other types of vessels.

Delivery of the first operational systems will occur in 2022.
