GAVIÃO PEIXOTO, Brazil. Embraer delivered the first C-390 Millennium multimission transport aircraft to the Uzbekistan Air Force as part of a contract that also includes training, support, and spare parts, the company announced in a statement.

Uzbekistan becomes the first C-390 operator in Central Asia, according to the statement. The aircraft is designed for missions including cargo and troop transport, equipment and personnel airdrops, medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting, and humanitarian operations, including operations from temporary or unpaved runways.

The C-390 can carry up to 26 metric tons of payload and has a maximum cruise speed of 470 knots, Embraer says. The aircraft can also be equipped with quick-installation air-to-air refueling equipment that enables it to operate as either a tanker or receiver. The contract for Uzbekistan was signed in late 2024.
