F-16 Block 70 industrial package offered to Peru by Lockheed Martin

LIMA, Peru. Lockheed Martin outlined a $1.8 billion industrial and social collaboration package for Peru as part of its proposed F-16 Block 70 fighter program, the company announced in a statement.
The package includes opportunities for Peruvian companies to participate in defense equipment production, uncrewed aircraft system (UAS) development, engineering training, space education, and maintenance activities, the statement reads.
Proposed projects include domestic assembly of an uncrewed aerospace vehicle for the Latin American market, joint research facilities, and the creation of a UAS Technical Institute, according to Lockheed Martin. The company also plans to provide engineering and fighter-maintenance training and expand Peru's maintenance, repair, and overhaul capabilities.
Lockheed Martin says the effort is intended to incorporate Peruvian firms into its supply chain and expand the country's aerospace manufacturing and support capabilities.
The F-16 Block 70 configuration includes updated radar, avionics, and weapons systems, according to the statement. More than 2,800 F-16 aircraft are currently operated by 29 countries, the company says.
