Encrypted communications technology to be acquired by Terma

LYSTRUP, Denmark. Terma entered into an agreement to acquire Danish cybersecurity company Dencrypt A/S, which develops end-to-end encrypted communications technology for defense, government, critical infrastructure, and commercial users, the company announced in a statement.
Dencrypt's technology encrypts voice, video, messaging, and data on standard smartphones, tablets, and computers without requiring dedicated communications hardware, the statement reads.
The system can operate over commercial mobile networks, public Wi-Fi, and satellite connections, allowing users to exchange protected information while using commercial devices, Terma says.
Dencrypt was founded based on cryptographic research conducted at the Technical University of Denmark and has spent more than a decade developing communications-security technology, according to the statement. Its patented Dynamic Encryption technology is certified under the Common Criteria at Evaluation Assurance Level 4+ (EAL4+).
Terma states that the acquisition will add Dencrypt's encryption capabilities to its defense and security portfolio and support further development of sovereign communications technology for Denmark, allied nations, and international partners.
Completion of the acquisition remains subject to final approval, the company says.
