Satellite communications terminals from Kymeta ordered by Pentagon

REDMOND, Washington. Kymeta won a $20 million order from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) for more than 100 Osprey u8 satellite communications (SATCOM) terminals and associated multi-orbit connectivity services, the company announced in a statement.
The terminals will operate with Kymeta Broadband services providing geostationary orbit (GEO) and low Earth orbit (LEO) connectivity and can switch between transmission security (TRANSEC) and non-TRANSEC networks, the statement reads. The systems are intended to support a Primary, Alternate, Contingency, and Emergency (PACE) communications architecture for military users.
Kymeta says it is developing an AutoPACE capability intended to automate switching among available communications links rather than requiring operators to select them manually. The company has delivered more than $30 million in terminals and connectivity services to the unidentified DoD branch during 2026, according to the statement.
