German 6x6 armored vehicle production to expand under Patria-KNDS agreement

BERLIN, Germany. Patria and KNDS Deutschland Maintenance signed a framework agreement covering assembly and final integration of Patria 6x6 armored personnel carriers for Germany under the multinational Common Armoured Vehicles (CAVS) program, the company announced in a statement.
The agreement supports two procurement contracts between Patria and the Bundeswehr signed in December 2025, the statement reads.
Serial deliveries to the German armed forces are scheduled to increase in early 2027, while production within Germany is expected to expand from 2027 as part of a technology-transfer effort, Patria says. KNDS will support local assembly and integration as Patria develops German production capacity with domestic industrial partners.
The CAVS program began in 2020 through cooperation between Finland and Latvia and is based on the Patria 6x6 vehicle, according to the statement. Finland, Latvia, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Germany, and the United Kingdom currently participate in the program.
Vehicles have been delivered to Finland, Sweden, Latvia, Denmark, and Germany, while Patria 6x6 vehicles are also in operation in Ukraine, the company says.
