CAMBRIDGE, United Kingdom. Advanced Micro Peripherals introduced a family of rugged video converters intended to connect legacy and digital video equipment aboard military vehicles, the company announced in a statement.
The VETRO product family converts signals between combinations of High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI), DisplayPort, Digital Visual Interface (DVI), high-definition serial digital interface (HD-SDI), Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link (GMSL), Video Graphics Array (VGA), Phase Alternating Line (PAL), National Television System Committee (NTSC), and RS-170 interfaces, the statement reads.
The converters are designed to connect vehicle sensors, mission computers, displays, driver-vision systems, remote weapon stations, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) equipment without replacing existing electronic architectures, the company says.
Each unit uses an ingress protection 67-rated enclosure, MIL-DTL-38999 connectors, and MIL-STD-1275E-compliant power conditioning, according to the statement. The fanless converters use conduction cooling and are designed for installation in vehicle compartments with limited space.
Advanced Micro Peripherals says the product family is intended for military vehicle modernization programs requiring interoperability between older analog equipment and newer digital systems.
