Electronic warfare and radar production capacity expanded by Raytheon

FOREST, Mississippi. Raytheon has completed a $50 million, 17,000-square-foot expansion of its Forest manufacturing facility to increase production capacity for electronic warfare and radar systems, the company announced in a statement.
The expanded facility will support production, testing, and integration of Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band (NGJ-MB) pods for the U.S. Navy and Australian government, along with other airborne radar programs, the statement reads.
The expansion brings the Forest site to 445,000 square feet of manufacturing space and is expected to add 100 jobs by 2028, according to the company.
Raytheon has completed three expansions at the Mississippi facility over the past decade, representing $280 million in capital investment, the statement reads. Previous projects included a 20,000-square-foot addition in 2013 and a 50,000-square-foot radar production and test facility completed in 2020.
The company says the latest expansion is intended to increase manufacturing capacity for airborne electronic warfare and radar systems used in U.S. and allied defense programs.
