Shield AI counter-UAS software integrated with L3Harris VAMPIRE system

SAN DIEGO, California. L3Harris Technologies licensed Shield AI’s Tracker Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS) software for integration with its VAMPIRE counter-drone platform, the company announced in a statement.
Tracker C-UAS uses artificial intelligence (AI) and computer vision to detect, identify, and track uncrewed aerial system (UAS) threats in electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) video without relying on radar or radio-frequency (RF) emissions, the statement reads. The software is intended to provide passive early warning and targeting information for counter-UAS engagements.
The integration follows an earlier demonstration combining L3Harris WESCAM MX-Series EO/IR sensors with Tracker C-UAS software, according to the statement. The VAMPIRE system is designed for installation on vehicles, vessels, and other platforms and provides intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) and precision-strike capabilities against uncrewed aircraft and ground threats, the company says.
