Autonomous ground vehicles with amphibious kits ordered for U.S. Marine Corps
Mission Master SP autonomous uncrewed ground vehicle via Rheinmetall

VIENNA, Virginia. American Rheinmetall won a $7.28 million contract to manufacture and deliver 12 Mission Master SP autonomous uncrewed ground vehicles and five amphibious kits for the U.S. Marine Corps, the company announced in a statement.

The procurement is being conducted through the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), with ADS Inc. serving as prime contractor in support of the U.S. Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL), the statement reads. The vehicles will incorporate Rheinmetall’s PATH autonomy architecture, modular payload integration, and the Marine Kit for amphibious operations in littoral environments, according to the company.

The systems are intended to support continued operational evaluation, experimentation, autonomous logistics, and expeditionary mobility development, Rheinmetall says. The procurement also includes program management, engineering support, logistics coordination, technical documentation, operator training, and acceptance testing. American Rheinmetall will lead the work in the United States with engineering and production support from Rheinmetall Canada, which the statement identifies as the original equipment manufacturer and technical partner.
