Hydraulic propulsion technology for uncrewed aircraft acquired by Tekever

BRISTOL, United Kingdom. Tekever acquired Flowcopter, an Edinburgh-based developer of hydraulic transmission technology for uncrewed aerial systems (UAS), as part of an effort to expand its heavy-lift and long-endurance aircraft capabilities, the company announced in a statement.
Flowcopter’s hydraulic transmission technology is designed to enable UAS platforms to carry heavier payloads over longer distances, with potential applications including logistics, casualty evacuation, offshore operations, search and rescue, disaster relief, and crewed-uncrewed teaming, the statement reads. The companies have already worked together on Tekever’s AR6 family of aircraft, which incorporates Flowcopter technology and is designed to carry at least 200 kilograms over distances exceeding 500 kilometers, the company says.
Flowcopter will continue engineering work from Edinburgh under the Tekever brand, focusing on propulsion and heavy-lift aircraft systems, according to the statement. The acquisition is also part of Tekever’s £400 million OVERMATCH investment program aimed at expanding autonomous-system development and production in the United Kingdom
