3U OpenVPX chassis management card released by Pixus Technologies

KITCHENER, Canada. Pixus Technologies has released the SHM300-20, a Tier 3 chassis management card in a 3U OpenVPX slot-pluggable form factor aligned with the Sensor Open Systems Architecture, or SOSA, Technical Standard, the company announced in a statement.
The SHM300-20 is based on the company's SHM300-00 chassis manager, a mezzanine-based version introduced in 2023 that mounts beneath the backplane to avoid occupying a system slot, the statement reads. The new model is designed for systems with available slot space or applications using the VMEbus International Trade Association (VITA) 48.2 conduction-cooled form factor, the company says.
Both versions use the same U.S.-developed software and firmware, according to Pixus. The SHM300 product line complies with Tier 3 requirements and the VITA 46.11 system management standard and is aligned with SOSA Hardware Management Card specifications, the statement reads.
Pixus says versions of the SHM300 chassis manager have been deployed in U.S. defense programs. The company also develops OpenVPX backplanes, enclosures, chassis managers, and other VITA-based embedded computing products.
