Ruggedized, small-form-factor WAN modules from PacStar chosen to upgrade U.S. Marine Corps data networks - News

ASHBURN, Va. PacStar, a division of Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions, has won a $25 million contract to upgrade a portion of the U.S. Marine Corps Combat Data Network (CDN) that the company says will enable the Marine Corps to extend the benefits of advanced network communications to tactical environments.

It’s a fact that the average age for electrical and electronics engineers – many of whom are engaged in the defense industry – is older compared to the median age of other American workers. The median age of employed electrical and electronics engineers in 2019 was 44 years old, according to the most recent information from the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

Marine exercise tests DARPA air support system - News

During TALON REACH, a U.S. Marine Corps infantry/aviation training exercise involving Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One and the Marine Infantry Officer Course (IOC), DARPA tested the Persistent Close Air Support (PCAS) system. The PCAS program enables sharing of real-time situational awareness and weapons systems data with almost any aircraft.
