B-2 Bomber electronic warfare upgrade provided by BAE Systems

NASHUA, N.H. New electronic warfare systems for the B-2 Bomber will be supplied by BAE Systems in Nashua, N.H. Officials at Northrop Grumman - Aerospace Systems tasked BAE Systems engineers to provide Electronic Support Measure (ESM) systems to be used on all 20 B-2 Spirit bombers. This electronic warfare upgrade will replace the current AN/APR-50 system.

The system along with the B-2's radar warning receiver, detects electronic threats then provides data on the threats to the B-2 air crew.

The B-2’s mission is to penetrate dense enemy anti-aircraft defenses and deploy conventional as well as nuclear weapons. Northrop Grumman is the prime contractor for all B-2 modernization efforts that will keep the B-2 flying through 2058.

BAE Systems engineers will support the ESM contract from facilities in Nashua and Cambridge, Mass.
