Diamond Systems' Rugged PCIe MiniCards offer add-on I/O functionality in a compact, industry standard format. These modules plug into any PCIe MiniCard compliant socket in a laptop, personal computer, SBC or COM baseboard.

Diamond System's MiniCards offer a rich set of benefits for your application, including serial, opto-isolation and digital I/O; a plug-and-play design that conforms to the industry standard; industry leading functionality at a very competitive price; field swappable components that are easy to insert and remove; a lightweight design that offers the same capability as larger I/O boards; and latching connectors to increase ruggedness.

Extended temperature capability (-40°C to +85°C) enables the board to operate in environments with extreme temperature swings, such as vehicles or outdoor installations. In addition, the board may be custom-configured with 0-ohm resistors in place of jumper blocks for increased ruggedness in high-vibration environments.

Diamond Systems' PCIe MiniCard family currently consists of three models: the DS-MPE-SER4M 4-port high speed RS-232/422/485 serial module, the DS-MPE-SER4OPT opto-isolated serial module and the DS-MPE-GPIO 36-channel digital I/O module. Both the serial and opto-isolated serial modules feature four high-speed serial ports and a maximum baud rate up to 10Mbps. The digital I/O module features 36 buffered digital I/O lines, is configurable for up to four 24-bit PWM and for 4 counter/timers, and is supported by our Universal Driver software library.

Each model comes with the PCIe MiniCard hardware assembly, a cable kit with two dual serial cables and a hardware kit containing jumpers and mounting screws.
