UK AWACS uses LynxOS RTOS

OWEGO, N.Y. Officials at Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and sensors division in Owego, N.Y., selected the LynxOS Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) from LynuxWorks, Inc. as well as the company?s Luminosity Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for with the Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) flown by the United Kingdom.
The UK AWACS fleet track aircraft at extended ranges.
The LynxOS RTOS includes the most recent version of the Luminosity IDE, which has development, debug, and analysis tools integrated into an Eclipse-based framework. Luminosity can create, edit, compile, manage, profile, and debug C/C++ embedded and real-time applications as well as build and debug kernel downloadable images from LynuxWorks operating systems.
