SAN DIEGO. Combat-training and communications company Cubic Global Defense will supply the United States Air National Guard (ANG) with PRISim Suite PortableTrainer systems.

Under the terms of the $6 million-plus contract, Cubic Global Defense will install -- at every ANG base -- the training suite, which includes software capabilities that allow customization of scenarios. The Cubic systems will train ANG security forces personnel in use-of-force policy, handling of deadly force, and use of less-lethal weapons.

The Cubic L750 portable system, part of the company's PRISim Suite of products, uses high-definition, interactive videos and game-engine technology to create realistic training scenarios for all aspects of firearms handling. The system is transportable and sets up quickly: According to Cubic officials, its industry-leading set-up time is just three minutes. The training system is controlled by a Surface Pro tablet and features three modes: branching video for use of force training, marksmanship, and skill-building.

“The PRISim simulation system will provide the necessary weapons training for the Air National Guard’s Security Forces to be able to respond in any situation they may find themselves in,” said Keith Bauder, director of National Guard Bureau programs, Federal Resources. “It will prove to be an excellent resource for many years.”
