RFEL advanced fusion Driver Vision Enhancement for military usage on display at Eurosatory

Newport, Isle of Wight, UK. RFEL, in collaboration with GuS, KTK Kommunikationstechnik, and Rheinmetall Defence, will be showcasing an advanced fused Driver Vision Enhancement (fDVE) solution at the Eurosatory conference in Paris, France, June 16-20.

The fDVE is a fully modular concept for enhancing vision capabilities for military usage such as Situational Awareness (SA) and reconnaissance. The system is based on a standardized mechanical and electrical interface where various types of cameras and sensors can be used in a mix-and-match manner so modifications can be made depending on mission requirements.

RFEL’s HALO video processing solution is implemented into the fDVE. The FPGA-based platform combines several functions, such as: the correction of lens distortion; image contrast enhancement; image fusion; image overlay such as Picture in Picture (PIP); image stabilization; and video scaling.
