WASHINGTON. Engineers at Raytheon Trusted Computer Solutions (RTCS) released a secure data transfer solution called Small Format Guard for warfighters in mobile and tactical deployments.

The software-based Small Format Guard is designed for forces that have strict size, weight, power, (SWaP) and cooling requirements. It is based on the company’s High Speed Guard solution and supports security protocols and also can be adapted to specific mission needs. The solution can work on a single board computer (SBC), an Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture (ATCA) processor board, as well as other x86, 64-bit ruggedized platforms.

Small Format Guard is targeted at complex flying data centers that have heavy redundancy requirements to land vehicle configurations, says Ed Hammersla, RTCS COO.
