FAIRFAX, Va., General Dynamics completes test of Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) satellite communications. The built-in four-channel Digital Modular Radios (DMR) completed voice calls and data transmission to and from DMR to an Army AN/PRC-155 two-channel Manpack radio using the MUOS satellite and ground station simulators.

The U.S. Army awarded General Dynamics Mission Systems a contract to support upgrades to their Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) waveform that is used in the Army's AN/PRC-155 two-channel MUOS-Manpack radios. The waveform is the digital 'dial-tone' necessary for connecting with the U.S. Navy's new MUOS satellite communications network that will enable U.S. military and government personnel to have smartphone-like voice clarity and data connectivity.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ. – A General Dynamics C4 Systems-led team was part of the critical design review of the Aviation Command and Control Subsystem (AC2S), which is a part of the U.S. Marine Corps’ new Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S). Company engineers will now build four AC2S engineering development models (EDM) for use in a CAC2S system for developmental testing and operational assessment.

U.S. Army officials ordered another 13,000 Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) Handheld, Manpack, Small Form Fit (HMS) AN/PRC-154 Rifleman radios as well as accessory kits from General Dynamics C4 Systems for about $53.9 million. This is the Army?s second order of PRC-154 Rifleman radios, bringing the total to more than 19,000.
