Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS) to use rugged servers from Z Microsystems
NewsNovember 29, 2012
SAN DIEGO. Z Microsystems is working with MEADS International to deliver its ZX rugged servers and workstations for the Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS).
The ZX Series meet MIL-STD-810G requirements for shock, vibration, humidity, and high/low temperature. Each device has a compact and lightweight design, which saves rack space. It also has military options like EMI filtered power supplies with Mil-Circular connectors and a locking security panel. The rugged servers also comply with the European CE marking for safety and environmental standards.
MEADS, which is being developed by Lockheed Martin in the U.S. and MBDA in Germany and Italy, is a mobile air defense system that will replace Patriot systems in the U.S. and Germany and Nike Hercules systems in Italy.
