COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. Radiation Test Solutions (RTS) -- a company providing radiation-effects analysis and testing services for electronics and other materials -- has agreed to acquire Radtest Ltd., based in Harwell, England.

Malcolm Thomson, president of RTS, said of the deal: “We are very excited about the opportunities created by bringing both companies together. We have worked with Dr. Richard Sharp, CEO of Radtest, since 2013. Radtest, along with their radiation-testing expertise, developed the SEREEL2 laser system in 2018. The system will help to alleviate an industry bottleneck at many traditional SEE testing facilities. With the growth of the commercial space industry over the last several years, this is a perfect time for our two companies to merge and better serve our customers, globally.”

“With the Radtest acquisition, RTS enhances its radiation testing and spacecraft analysis capabilities to the international community. RTS will install the SEREEL2 laser-based SEE testing system at their 35,000 sq.ft. Colorado test facility. The SEREEL2 system will be available by 4Q21 and is available now to those companies interested in purchasing a system for their own use,” continued Thomson.

Dr. Richard Sharp, CEO of Radtest Ltd., stated of the acquisition: “We have a strong working relationship with RTS. To combine the two companies into one organization will help better serve the needs of our customers in the UK, Europe and Asia. RTS has a world-class facility, subject matter experts, and very experienced staff that we can draw upon to aid in supporting our customers’ needs. We look forward to this new chapter in working with RTS and being able to expand our capabilities here in Harwell.”
