BRAINTREE, Mass. U.S. Navy officials selected Ultra Electronics's Ocean Systems business for a firm one-year acoustic countermeasure contract valuing an estimated $4 million to continue production of its Acoustic Device Countermeasure (ADC) MK2 countermeasure systems.

If all options are exercised the contract could be extended an additional four years and it could increase the contract value to an estimated $34 million. Officials say, the total five-year contract includes effort for design enhancements, development, production, and support services.

The ADC MK2 is an acoustic countermeasure that can be launched from ships and submarines to protect against torpedo threats.
