NORWAY. Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace has won a contract from Raytheon Australia worth $187.7 million (1.6 billion Norwegian kronor) for delivery of National Advanced Surface-To-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS) components.

Raytheon Australia is the prime contractor to deliver NASAMS to the Australian Government Land 19 Phase 7B program, which was approved in March 2019.

According to the company, NASAMS is comprised of the Raytheon Sentinel radar, the KONGSBERG Fire Distribution Center, and the Raytheon Advanced Medium Range Air- to-Air Missile. Raytheon maintains that this mid-range solution can maximize the air defender's ability to identify, engage, and destroy threats from enemy aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, and cruise missiles.
