ARLINGTON, Va. The U.S. Army has issued a special notice inviting nonmembers to join the Vehicular Integration for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance/Electronic Warfare interoperability (VICTORY) standards program.

Officials of the Army Contracting Command are inviting companies that are not already involved to attend the next meeting of the VICTORY standards body, to be held December 13 and 14 at the Detroit Arsenal in Warren, Michigan. The VICTORY group intends to hold working group discussions, engage industry partners and government agencies, and ultimately update participants on on how to build C4ISR/EW [command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance/electronic warfare] and related mission equipment on military ground platforms.

The VICTORY standards body, which includes industry and government members, continues to work to urge more federal government and defense-industry organizations to join the open standards development of the specifications.

According to U.S. Army materials, VICTORY is a common standard designed to guide network-related development and integration efforts for the Army's tactical wheeled vehicle and ground combat systems. The VICTORY initiative -- a part of the Army's Common Operating Environment -- endeavors to provide warfighters with more common sets of devices, displays, and information in a wider range of vehicles, ultimately making soldiers and formations more connected, aware, and capable.

Registration is required to access the Detroit Arsenal for the event; the registration period is open until November 27, 2017. Details for this F2F TIM [Face-to-Face Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs)] are posted on the VICTORY public site.
