Autonomous and unmanned aviation division introduced by Berry Aviation

SAN MARCOS, Texas. Berry Aviation, Inc., a manned aircraft operator, has announced the opening of a new Autonomous and Unmanned Aviation Division located in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The new research facility conducts Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) research supporting the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) in the areas of specialized navigation, propulsion, and acoustic improvements. 

The new unit's realization was due in part to what the company claims to be a strong demand signal from several customers and recently added additional engineers to support its UAS and Counter UAS activities. 

In addition to broadening the company's aviation support capability, Berry Aviation explained that it expects the new Autonomous and Unmanned Aviation Division to have an impact in the local community. For instance, creating the opportunities for academic partnerships and job creation in the intelligence, surveillance, and reconaissance (ISR) sector of the DoD. 

According to officials, the company conducts 14,000 global flight and ground operations annually and possesses operating experience in austere and unique environments with customers and end-users including all branches of the DoD.
