MCKINNEY, Texas. Raytheon will produce and deliver three AN/DAS-3 multispectral targeting systems (MTSs) and one electronic unit in support of low-rate initial production of Lot 2 MQ-4C Triton unmanned aircraft systems (UASs) under the terms of a new $7.21 million contract with the U.S. Navy.
The MTS family of sensors provides electro-optical/ infrared (EO/IR), laser designation, and laser illumination capabilities integrated in a single sensor package, according to Raytheon company materials. MTS sensors feature multiple fields of view, electronic zoom, and multimode video tracking; the company says that they are also designed to incorporate future growth options and performance enhancements.
Work under the contract will be performed in McKinney, Texas, and is expected to be completed by January 2020.
