NATO countries to get battlespace intelligence system

BETHESDA, Md. and FULLERTON, Calif. Lockheed Martin and ThalesRaytheonSystems are teaming to provide the NATO Alliance with a territorial ballistic missile defense (BMD) command-and-control capability.
The focus of the joint NATO program is the upgrade, test, and integration of NATO's command and control systems and underlying communication network to effect information exchange between various NATO and national missile-defense systems.
Such an integrated system-of-systems architecture, say officials from both companies will provide NATO forces -- whether deployed within or beyond NATO's area of responsibility -- with the capability to defend NATO populations and territories.
