40Vin Dual 1.2A Silent Switcher µModule Regulator minimizes EMIThe LTM8078 is a dual 1.2A 40Vin step-down Silent Switcher μModule regulator in 6.25mm x 6.25mm x 2.22mm BGA package. It is a simple solution for regulating system bus voltages such as 3.3V and 5V from input power sources as high as 40V.Because the maximum input voltage is 40V, it can safely operate from unregulated or fluctuating 12V to 24V input supplies in noisy environments such as factory automation and industrial robotics. Each output voltage is adjustable with one resistor from 0.8V to 10V. This wide output voltage range provides versatility, allowing one product to generate voltage rails for IO and digital ICs and common system bus voltages such as 3.3V and 5V. The LTM8078 delivers 1.4A continuous output current per channel at 24Vin, 3.3Vout, TA=80℃

The Silent Switcher® architecture minimizes EMI emissions enabling the LTM8078 to pass CISPR22 class B with no input filter. The switching frequency can be set by an external single resistor ranging from 300kHz to 3MHz or can be synchronized to an external clock. The LTM8078 has four operating modes: Burst Mode® operation, pulse skip mode, pulse skip mode with spread spectrum and external synch mode. The combination of Silent Switcher, wide operating frequency range and multiple operating modes minimize the risk of problems caused by electromagnetic interference, making it ideal for noise sensitive signal processing applications, including imaging and RF systems
