SPRINGFIELD, Va. The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) has awarded a prime contractor position on its 10-year Janus Geography contract to data management and security firm Altamira Technologies (McLean, Virginia).
The Janus Program provides geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) data management and enrichment support to customers and partners both within and outside of the U.S. government, including some in the defense, intelligence, and homeland security communities.
Altamira officials say that the company carefully selected a team of traditional and nontraditional partners that combine advances in data science and legacy NGA experience with expertise developing cutting-edge open architectures; in addition, Altamira aims to use such tools as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to support the Janus program’s focus on incorporating new technologies to facilitate updates and modernization.
