Mayport named FOB for MQ-4C Triton UAS - News

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. The U.S. Navy has named Naval Station Mayport (Jacksonville, Florida) as the forward operating base (FOB) for its fleet of MQ-4C Triton unmanned aircraft systems (UASs). As the east coast FOB, Mayport will act as the launch and recovery site for four forward-based MQ-4C Triton UAS and will be the consolidated maintenance hub for up to four additional aircraft.

FLIR lands $50 million Coast Guard contract for navigation electronics - News

The U.S. Coast Guard has awarded FLIR Systems a $50 million indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract to provide marine electronics systems under the Coast Guard's Scalable Integrated Navigation Systems 2 (SINS-2) program over a five-year period, with the option to extend delivery for an additional five years.

Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) officials partnered with Space Systems Loral (SSL) for the Agency's Robotic Servicing of Geosynchronous Satellites (RSGS) program with the aim to develop technologies that would enable cooperative inspection and servicing of satellites in geosynchronous orbit (GEO) and demonstrate those technologies on orbit. Depending on the outcome, the research effort could open the door towards lowering the risks and costs of operating in GEO.

The U.S. Army Contracting Command announced that the Department of Defense (DoD) has awarded a contract to Raytheon for $202 million to perform enhancements to the Patriot Air and Missile Defense System. According to the company, the work on the Patriot will sustain more than 500 highly skilled jobs across four U.S. states, while adding to the functionality of the Patriot system.
