COPENHAGEN, Denmark. Terma won a contract to equip four anti-submarine warfare frigates, two for the Belgian Navy and two for the Netherlands Navy, with SCANTER 6002 naval surveillance radars -- an agreement that involves collaboration with Damen Naval and RH Marine to integrate these radar systems onto the vessels, the company announced in a statement.
Damen Naval will oversee the construction of the frigates and serve as the main contractor with the Netherlands Ministry of Defence and Navy, ensuring that the integration of the radars meets operational requirements. RH Marine will act as the system integrator, working in conjunction with Terma to facilitate the smooth incorporation and optimal functionality of the radars, the statement reads.
The SCANTER 6002 is designed to perform under adverse weather conditions, utilizing X-band technology and multi-frequency capabilities that enhance its small target detection, making it an effective tool for maritime security and surveillance operations, the company says.
