The NEXSYS ARINC 429 to Discrete Signal Converter (SR429) from Applied Avionics converts the data bits associated with a single ARINC 429 label and dissects them into 23 discrete output pins, one for each data bit. The unit is software-free as well as firmware-free and does not require a DO-254 or DO-178 certification. The SR429 has been tested to DO-160F and is equivalent to MIL-STD. It can be ordered as preconfigured unit with factory settings to any specific ARINC label and transmission speed or as a universal unit with ARINC label and transmission speed that can be set and reset. For ADS-B applications, Applied Avionics can provide the ARINC 429 Converter, the mandated indicators, and additional “post-processing” logic capabilities via its proprietary NEXSYS LOGIC Module.

The SR429 can also be used as an output expander to any avionics system if all of the system OEM built-in discrete outputs have already been used. Designers can convert an ARINC 429 signal to discrete outputs with the SR429 signal converter from NEXSYS. The SR429 – a compliant ARINC 429 receiver that can be ordered as a high-speed (100 kbps) or low-speed (12.5 kbps) unit – is compatible with a standard 37-pin two-row D-sub connector and weighs 11 ounces.
