MCKINNEY, Texas. Raytheon has been selected to produce an additional 53 AN/APY-10 radars for the U.S. Navy’s Boeing P-8A Poseidon aircraft fleet. The multi-year contract has an estimated value of $153 million.

The AN/APY-10 is a maritime, littoral, and overland surveillance radar. It delivers information from intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions in any type of weather for anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare platforms. The radar offers periscope detection mode, long-range detection and classification of maritime targets, and synthetic aperture for overland surveillance.

The U.S. Navy originally ordered 58 AN/APY-10 radars and has contracted Raytheon for an additional 53 systems for the P-8A fleet and the Royal Australian Air Force.
