Developed in alignment with the Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA™) Technical Standard as an I/O Intensive processor, the VPX3-1260 unites the flexibility of an open standards approach with high-speed connectivity and high-performance processing.
The VPX3-1260 maximizes the capability of its 6-core, 12-thread processor (8th Gen Intel® Xeon® E-2276ME processor). Providing a huge leap in performance over previous generations of Intel Core™ i7 and Xeon processors, this cutting-edge board is designed to deliver 50% more processing power than previous four-core designs – all in the smallest 3U form factor. What’s more, its NVMe local SSD storage provides a 3-5x improvement in performance and up to 16x capacity over traditional SATA SSD interfaces. And, leveraging Intel’s AVX2 SIMD extensions, the VPX3-1260 accelerates math-intensive algorithms with 518 GFLOPs of floating-point performance.
The VPX3-1260 features ports for high-speed connectivity, including 40 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and PCIe® Gen3, making this SBC an ideal building block when architecting systems requiring processor expansion or when connecting multiple processor boards together to create a high-performance embedded system for ISR processing.
As well, the VPX3-1260’s open standards-based design eliminates the pitfalls of proprietary point solutions, such as interoperability, flexibility, and size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C) challenges. Its alignment with the SOSA Technical Standard prevents vendor lock-in, simplifies future upgrades, and delivers increased investment protection.
