LONDON. The unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) market will experience decremental growth of $1.08 billion during 2021-2025, with the growth momentum of that market decelerating at a combined annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.16%, according to a new study from Technavio, "Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) Market by Type and Geography -- Forecast and Analysis 2021-2025."

According to the study authors, the volatility in the UCAV market is thought to be the result of the changing nature of advanced warfare, with several factors including rapid development of antidrone technology impeding market growth.

The study details major players in the UCAV market -- including AeroVironment, BAE Systems, Dassault Aviation Group, Elbit Systems, General Atomics, Lockheed Martin, and Boeing -- with the observation that power in this market is concentrated on a small number of vendors, who are all competing to deploy organic and inorganic growth strategies to gain market share.
