ST. LOUIS. U.S. Navy officials have tasked Boeing to maintain aircrew training devices for six aircraft variants as part of a five-year, $56 million contract. The covers training devices for P-3C, EP-3, P-8A, EA-6B, EA-18G, and SH-60B aircraft.

The trainers are located at Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville, Fla.; Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii; NAS Whidbey Island, Wash., and Kadena Air Base, Japan.

As part of a separate Navy contract, Boeing officials plan to deliver training systems for the P-8A aircraft to NAS Jacksonville in 2013. Other sites will follow as the program moves into full-rate production. Boeing will provide trainers as well as all support functions for U.S. Navy P-8A aircrew training.
