MELBOURNE, Florida. L3Harris Technologies will present an open-source software framework designed to streamline mission system integration -- known as Chimera 4.0 -- at its exhibit at the MOSA Industry & Government Summit, the company says.

Chimera 4.0 supports the Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA), offering features such as distributed processing, hardware acceleration, and a robust DevOps pipeline, the company says, adding that this version improves upon its predecessor with enhanced inter-module communications and an advanced queuing system to ensure more efficient data handling and processing.

The framework is structured to simplify the development process, providing a scalable and adaptable system for diverse mission needs, and applications include tracking, image processing, command and control, and communications, the company adds.

The goal of Chimera 4.0 and Chimera Forge is to reduce engineering tasks and promote efficient mission system design and modernization.
