SAN DIEGO. Tapestry Solutions -- a subsidiary of Boeing -- has won a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract from the U.S. Air Force to provide an integrated maintenance system (IMS) for the Romanian air force?s (RoAF) fleet of F-16 fighter aircraft.

Under the terms of the contract, Tapestry will integrate its GOLDesp maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) software, which is aimed at modernizing maintenance, logistics, and supply operations for the RoAF fleet.

According to company documents, GOLDesp is a military-grade, enterprise MRO solution designed to streamline and automate fleet processes ranging from maintenance, logistics, and forecasting to spare/repair parts management, inventory tracking, and warehousing. GOLDesp also integrates with the U.S. military supply system for faster parts delivery and replenishment. GOLDesp's automated systems aim to eliminate manual processes -- replacing grease boards and spreadsheets with a centralized database -- which will greatly improve efficiency and effectiveness for maintenance and supply personnel.

“GOLDesp will provide the RoAF with total asset visibility, providing the right data at the right time, to ensure maximum equipment availability and readiness for the F-16 platform and other platforms in the future; GOLDesp provides the necessary foundation to build upon,” said Darin Booth, senior director of international business development for Tapestry Solutions.
