SANTA BARBARA, Calif. Green Hills Software, company specializing in high-assurance operating systems, announced that its INTEGRITY-178 Time-Variant Unified Multi-Processing (tuMP) RTOS for the Xilinx UltraScale+ FPGA has been selected by Collins Aerospace for the U.S. Navy's Tactical Combat Training System Increment II (TCTS Inc. II) program.

INTEGRITY-178 tuMP features Multiple Independent Levels of Security (MILS) architecture, the ability to host Multi-Level Security (MLS) applications such as Cross Domain Solutions (CDS), the ability to host a guest OS and legacy applications in a secure virtualized partition, and conformance to the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) 3.0 Technical Standard.

Collins Aerospace's TCTS Inc. II solution is intended to enable the rapid adaptation of new missions into training as well as joint and coalition interoperability with fourth- and fifth-generation aircraft platforms, supplemented by an open architecture design and alignment with the FACE Technical Standard.

The contract was originally awarded to Rockwell Collins in 2017, and officials claim that the F/A-18 will be the first aircraft to be supplemented with the training system.
