NUREMBERG, Germany. Engineers at Symtavision announced at Embedded World in Nuremberg, Germany the latest versions of their SymTA/S 3.1 and TraceAnalyzer 3.1 tools for verifying, optimizing and planning embedded real-time systems.

Both updates – designed for avionics and other safety critical applications -- include Scenario Management, a new FIBEX 3.1 import interface with improved Relative Deadline support. Scenario Manager supports scenario-dependent scheduling parameters such as period and priority, task execution time as well as CPU/bus speed. The feature also is customizable, enabling additional parameters to be covered.

Support for the Field Bus Exchange (FIBEX) format was updated, allowing the import of main system architecture and parameterization data in the most recent FIBEX 3.1 file format. This enables CAN and FlexRay configuration data to be imported including signals and function to ECU mappings. Improved Relative Deadline support provides deadline values to be automatically aligned whenever a period or task runtime makes a change.

Symtavision engineers have also implemented more than 50 functional improvements in SymTA/S 3.1 and TraceAnalyzer 3.1. The improvements include a decrease of as muh as 50% in the memory requirements, enhanced Event Triggering analysis support, and a new CAN-bus Load Variation Analysis that allows different load scenarios to be examined by varying message periods. Other enhancements include FlexRay model check improvements, remote interfacing and scripting improvements, and various charting, documentation, reporting, and graphical user interface improvements.
