SAN JOSE, Calif. This week at DesignWest in San Jose, Calif., Connect Tech is showcasing a wearable training solution for warfighters from Quantum3D that uses a custom small form factor design from Connect Tech. A company spokesperson is wearing the system at the show this week at booth #1538.

Quantum3D wanted to improve the power efficiency of their Thermite TVC 2.0 TL tactical visual computer by about 40 percent and it had to be a unique size, says Michelle Kasza, vice president of sales and marketing at Connect Tech. They also needed it fast and "we were able to do a proof of concept in five weeks and had the product in their hands in eight weeks." The speed was possible because they based a customd esign on proven commercial standards, she adds.

The end result was a based on PC/104 and PCI Express, with a Congatec Qseven-processor module on top, Kasza says. For more information, visit www.connecttech.com.
