ROCHESTER, New York. The U.S. Marine Corps chose the Falcon III multiband manpack radio from Harris Corp. to enable warfighters to talk and share data virtually worldwide as the radios use the MUOS (Mobile User Objective System) beyond-line-of-sight SATCOM communications waveform.

The Harris AN/PRC-117G radio enables SATCOM communications in a software upgradeable platform.

“The MUOS-enabled Harris radios allow the Marine Corps to develop deployment concepts and train before the MUOS system becomes operationally available,” says Brendan O'Connell, president, Tactical Communications, Harris Communication Systems.
