Data-powered radar and human-autonomy teaming bolster U.K.'s next-gen combat air system - News

UNITED KINGDOM. The latest concepts under development for the Royal Air Force’s (RAF) next generation combat air system have been revealed by British engineers on the program. Delivering the technology will be Team Tempest, a U.K. technology and defense partnership formed by BAE Systems, Leonardo, MBDA, Rolls-Royce, and the RAF, and also involving hundreds of high-tech companies and academia across the U.K.

SPEAR-EW electronic warfare weapon to be introduced by MBDA - News

FRANCE. MBDA has been awarded a contract to demonstrate SPEAR-EW, a new electronic warfare version of the SPEAR weapon system family on order for the Royal Air Force (RAF). SPEAR-EW is being developed by MBDA in partnership with Leonardo to complete a wide range of Suppression of Enemy Air Defence (SEAD) missions, under a Technical Demonstration Programme (TDP) contract awarded by Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S).

Brimstone missile to be equipped on RAF Typhoon jets in deal worth $563 million - News

STEVENAGE, U.K. European missile maker MBDA has signed an agreement with the U.K. ministry of defense to arm U.K. Royal Air Force (RAF) Typhoon jets with Brimstone missiles, said U.K. defense secretary Gavin Williamson, in a deal worth 400 million pounds ($563 million).

Integration tests of MEADS multifunction fire control radar completed in Italy - Other

ROME, Italy. Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS) International engineers integrated the MEADS Multifunction Fire Control Radar (MFCR) with a MEADS battle launcher and manager Pratica di Mare Air Force Base near Rome, Italy. This test series is expected to show that the MEADS TOC can control the MEADS MFCR in coordination with the MEADS Launcher. Demonstrated during the tests were functionalities such as 360-degree target acquisition and track through dedicated flights and other air traffic.
