AMSTERDAM. Analysts at ASD Reports say the demand for cloud-based security solutions is one key trend emerging in the Asia Pacific cyber security market in their report titled "The Key Players in The Cyber Security Market in the APAC Region 2015-2019."
"End-users prefer cloud-based security solutions because they are cost-effective and can be easily managed," ASD analysts say. "Therefore, both large enterprises and SMEs in the APAC region are increasingly adopting cloud-based cyber security solutions.”
According to the report the key players in this region are BAE Systems, Cisco Systems, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, and Symantec Corp. Other suppliers include Boeing, CSC, EMC, Fortinet, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Kaspersky Lab, L-3 Communications, McAfee, and TrendMicro.

A major driver in the market is increased use of mobile devices such as tablets and laptops, which has made it difficult for identification of cyber threats. With the rising need to integrate networks with mobile devices of employees, demand for security solutions to prevent misuse of confidential data through fraudulent activities has also been on the rise, ASD analysts say.
The high cost related to deployment of cyber security solutions also creates challenges as it takes time to properly implement a traditional cyber security solution, which means any changes needed afterward can be very expensive. Also, it requires additional high-cost IT infrastructure, complex programming, and extra time to ensure quality and integration with other solutions, according to the ASD report.
