WASHINGTON. President Joe Biden signed an executive order Wednesday (May 12) that is intended to harden the U.S. federal government's cybersecurity defenses, as the administration tackles a number of overlapping cyberintrusions.

It will feature a cybersecurity rating system and mandate modernization of U.S. cyber networks, to include multifactor user verification and additional layers of encryption.
