Combat helmet-mounted IDVS combines data with multispectral vision sensors

ADELAIDE, Australia. At the Land Forces 2016 in Adelaide, Australia Rockwell Collins officials introduced a combat helmet-mounted Integrated Digital Vision System (IDVS) for warfighters. It is a display system that combines real-time mission data with multispectral vision sensors into one view.

Officials say, the IDVS is the first display system that merges data with various sources, including the command center, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), or other warfighters with a multispectral vision.

It's a 24-hour system designed with an open architecture and gives users a view of their surroundings and the right information for them to stay safe and complete their mission, says LeAnn Ridgeway, vice president and general manager, Simulation and Training Solutions for Rockwell Collins. “In battle, warfighters are most effective and safe when they can stay focused on their surroundings at all times.”
