WILSONVILLE, Ore. Sensor-technology company FLIR Systems has made a strategic investment and will partner with CVEDIA, Singapore-based developers of machine-learning applications used to equip sensor systems with artificial intelligence (AI).

FLIR officials state that the investment in CVEDIA will enable the companies to accelerate the development of thermal spectrum-based deep-learning training tools for use by FLIR and selected partners in integrating AI into FLIR sensors and systems.

FLIR’s thermal-imaging sensors are used in military, industrial and automotive applications.
