Engineers at Mercury Systems, Inc. have added a new server based on Intel's 4th generation Core i7 processor (formerly Haswell) -- the rugged Ensemble Series 6U OpenVPX HDS6502 High Density Server (HDS) that provides as much as 16GB of 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM. It has built-in Serial RapidIO and 10 Gigabit Ethernet fabric compatibility.

Officials at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) Tactical Electronic Warfare Division (TEWD) selected Mercury Systems to supply advanced mixed signal digital receivers for prototype electronic warfare uses on airborne and surface shipboard applications. The award is a 3-year indefinite quantity/indefinite delivery (IDIQ) contract potentially worth as much $16.7 million.

Mercury solution delivers sensor data directly to coprocessors for electronic warfare applications - News

CHELMSFORD, Mass. Engineers at Mercury Computer Systems, Inc., are leveraging technology from NVIDIA for a new product called StreamDirect, that is designed for sensor applications that require significant amounts of signal processing. StreamDirect essentially is an efficient way to deliver streams of sensor data directly to specialized coprocessors such as general purpose graphics processing units (GPGPUs).
