TEWKSBURY, MA. Officials at the Office of Naval Research (ONR) tasked Raytheon to further develop an Enterprise Air Surveillance Radar (EASR). The company's EASR concept uses existing Radar Modular Assembly (RMA) architecture that has been proven on Air and Missile Defense Radar (AMDR) platforms. EASR will be able to meet the performance needs of various candidate ship classes for ship situational awareness, self-defense, air traffic control, and weather monitoring.

U.S. Army and Raytheon engineers finished the certification process for air worthiness release (AWR) of the TALON Laser-Guided Rocket (LGR) for use on the Apache AH-64D/E Attack helicopter. The AWR certification enables potential operational employment of the TALON weapon system on Army Apaches and Apaches that are part of international fleets.

TEWKSBURY, MA. Raytheon won a $35.5 million contract to deliver AN/AQS-20A minehunting sonar systems and equipment to the U.S. Navy. The system will be deployed from the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), functioning as the variable depth sonar for the AN/WLD-1 Remote Minehunting System (RMS), where it will be towed undersea to scan the water in front, below, and to the sides of the vehicle to look for anti-shipping mines.
